Want to help us help your community?

Improving health literacy amongst young people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) backgrounds is a Queensland Health priority. But, unfortunately, there is limited information about the health literacy of young people from some of these groups. This is where the HPAC project comes in.

By participating in this study, you will help us to identify gaps in health care systems and the way that health care is provided to those of CaLD backgrounds, specifically, our Pacific Islander, North-East and South-East Asian communities. In this study, you are able to participate by either completing the survey, or attending a focus group discussion.

Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions, our friendly research team is always happy to help!

The Focus Group Discussions

In this research, Focus Group Discussions (FGD) will be conducted. A FGD is where a small number of individuals gather to discuss a certain topic. In this study, we will run through different scenarios ranging from various different topics relating to health. The discussions will take approximately one hour, and will be guided by two of our Peer Researchers.

During the discussion, you will be asked to read the participant information sheet to ensure that you understand the purpose of the research, benefits and risks and whom to contact should you have further enquiries.
